Social Work in Mental Health Care, Follow-Up Master's Programme

Study Plan and Structure

The courses are divided into compulsory, elective, and optional categories. They may be completed by credit, an exam or a combination of both. The teaching methods include lectures, seminars and tutorials. Specialized teaching methods also include field placement and excursions. An overview of the study plan can be found here.

When designing the study plan and determining the study load, the College of Polytechnics, Jihlava, follows the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), setting the average standard student workload at 1,560 hours per academic year, which corresponds to 60 ECTS credits. The standard duration of a Master's programme corresponds to two academic years, during which students must earn at least 120 ECTS credits.

The programme consists of four semesters, each comprising 14 weeks of teaching and 5 weeks of an examination period. The study plan includes 240 hours of field placement. Concurrently with the courses Field Placement 1 and Field Placement 2 courses, students are also required to complete the Field Placement Supervision 1 and Field Placement Supervision 2 courses as corequisites.

Compulsory Courses

Elective Courses

Elective courses include Art Therapy and Its Use in Mental Health Care and Psychosocial Rehabilitation in Mental Health Care. To meet the programme's requirements, students must complete at least one of these courses.
