Between 2021 and 2023, the Department of Social Work at the College of Polytechnics Jihlava, implemented the project Innovation and Development of Courses Focused on Mental Health, which received a grant from the EEA Funds 2014-2021, Education Programme, funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.

The project partners were the City of Bergen, Department for Work, Social Welfare and Housing, Bergen, Norway, and the Centre for Mental Health Care Development, Prague, Czech Republic.

The aim of the project was to improve the teaching of the course Introduction to Psychiatry and Psychopathology for students of the Clinical Social Worker programme (both full-time and part-time) and to create a new elective course accessible to students of other programmes as well as to the general public. As part of the project, visits of Czech partners to Norway and subsequent visits of Norwegian partners to the Czech Republic took place for the purpose of mutual exchange of experience. The project outputs therefore include modernised and innovative courses covering several topics in the field of mental health care.
