Medium-Term Plan for the Development of Social Services in the SO ORP Jihlava

The Medium-Term Plan for the Development of Social Services in the SO ORP Jihlava for the period 2022–2024 was prepared by a project team consisting of representatives of the statutory city of Jihlava, including the councillor for social affairs, representatives of the Social Affairs Department of the Jihlava City Hall, the College of Polytechnics Jihlava, the Local Action Group Třešťsko, and representatives of the Social Affairs Department of the Regional Authority of the Vysočina Region.

Volunteering

The Department of Social Work organizes Volunteer Week at the College of Polytechnics Jihlava every year. Both students and employees of the College of Polytechnics Jihlava help as volunteers in various organizations. These organizations can also present their activities through a lecture at the College of Polytechnics Jihlava and recruit new volunteers. If you are interested in collaborating, please contact the volunteer activity coordinator, Dr. Černá (martina.cerna@vspj.cz).

The Department of Social Work has established a partnership based on corporate volunteering with the community of people with and without intellectual disabilities Benediktus, registered association. Department members have become involved in the life of the community at the Modletín complex. The core philosophy of the organization is the joint work of people with and without disabilities—shopping, cooking, cleaning, property and garden maintenance, and the production of small items for sale in the workshop. Art Therapy Course

The Department of Social Work (in the role of academic guarantor), in collaboration with the Centre for Lifelong Learning at the College of Polytechnics Jihlava, offers a two-year Art Therapy course. The course is intended for graduates of secondary schools, workers at leisure centers and correctional facilities, special educators, tutors, social workers, and other helping professions, as well as artists and other interested individuals.

The aim of this education is to acquire comprehensive theoretical knowledge necessary for the practice of art therapy and to use the methods and techniques of art therapy when working with clients in educational, advisory, developmental, or other settings.
