Course PRINCIPLES OF RECOVERY

How to apply the PRINCIPLES OF RECOVERY to mental health services and everyday life?

Caring for your mental wellbeing and recovery is a topic that affects us all. Mental health care service workers even more so, as they have a philosophy of recovery to impart to their clients/patients.

The MHJ offers a three-day training program on Recovery Principles and their application in practice over a 24-hour period. A2021/1183-SP/PC/PP/VP.

E-COURSE APPLICATION

The educational program Principles of Recovery and their Application in Practice is implemented in the framework of lifelong learning under the auspices of the Department of Social Work at the VŠPJ with the professional guarantee of PhDr. Vlasta Řezníková, Ph.D.

  • Who is the study intended for?

The study is intended primarily for workers in mental health care and loved ones of people who have experience with mental health difficulties.

The concept of recovery is applied in the field of mental health care for clients, workers or informal caregivers. The course will offer a different perspective on the person with experience of mental illness - the optics of pathology will be replaced by the optics of skills. Participants will help people with mental illness to empower themselves, take control of their own life situation, base interactions on their strengths, social inclusion, cultivate self-management skills, cultivate self-management skills with mental illness, etc.

  • What skills will you gain?

The first module focuses on the client as a person who knows something, has done something and has succeeded at something. The second module deals with methods and tools to support the recovery process (from the client's side, from the service side, from the helper's position). The third module leads participants to identify what they are already doing in their practice in the spirit of recovery.
